We were awarded this project on a Thursday evening and the show was taping on Monday morning. Needless to say, we had little time. Julia was brought in on Friday morning for her life cast. We immediately set to sculpting her features so that they more closely resembled a mannequin. A fiberglass mannequin was brought to us and we continued the sculpt onto that. Molds were created and two separate castings were made for two different “poses” of mannequin.

We built this little prop twice. The first, smaller head was built following production-supplied specifications. After working with it for a few days, they decided that they would like it to be larger so it would “read” better on camera. In the end, you should see both versions in the show. The “small” version used during the initial taping of the show, and the “large” version for inserts and a couple of re-shoots added later.
